1-on-1 Writing Coaching

Go from writing generic content that gets you nothing to writing the kind of content that gets you leads, clients, and speaking engagements.

1-on-1 coaching is the fastest way to transform your writing.

What You Get

  • Articulate your key messages: your approach to your work and your industry that you want to be known for into a few sentences that connect with your target market.

You’ll use your key messages to produce writing that gets noticed for years to come.

  • Banish “blank-page syndrome” by making writing fun for you. By the end of our work together, you’ll love writing within your business because every piece you write.

  • Professional editing: 12 of your pieces of writing line edited by me, a writer and editor with 15 years of experience who has edited hundreds of professional and amateur writers.

  • Connect with your target market and elicit feedback. Are you ready to feel the love from your audience? 🙂

You’ll know what to write, and how to reach the people who need what you sell. And it will be fun!

The Process

Week 1:

→ A 45-minute kickoff call. We will go through a series of exercises designed to get you to articulate:

  1. Your key messages: what you want to be known for within your industry

  2. Your ideal audience member for your writing

  1. Decide on your first 3 weekly pieces of writing. (I also call weekly posts “anchor content.”)

  2. Commit to a day of the week, every week for the next 12 weeks, when you will share your anchor content. Picking a day of the week is key to writing every week. We’ll decide on a schedule that works for you.

This is the starting point and we’ll be your key messages and your ideal audience member throughout the 14 weeks!

→ Within 5 days of this meeting, you write your first piece of weekly content.

Week 2: I edit your first piece of content. This week, I also send you a video recording of me walking you through the piece, explaining step by step where I think you can improve in the way you’re reaching your ideal client and in the way you’re addressing what you want to be known for within your industry.

Weeks 3-4: You write your next piece. I edit it.

You publish it. LinkedIn, email to your list, blog post on your site, or all of the above.

If you hit any writer’s block, we begin to address this here with a number of tried-and-true tactics I’ve used in my 15 years as a writer and editor to help myself and other writers vanquish “blank page syndrome.”

Week 5: Repeat weeks 3 and 4, plus 1 45-minute progress meeting to discuss how the writing’s going, what the audience feedback has been, and whether your ideal audience member and your key messages (“what do you want to be known for”) need to be updated.

Week 6-8: Repeat weeks 3-4.

Week 9: Repeat week 5, include 1 45-minute progress meeting.

Weeks 10-12: Repeat weeks 6-8.

** At any point, you can use either or both of your two “free weeks.” Just let me know weeks when you won’t be able to produce a piece, and we will take off that week.

At the end of our 14 weeks, we’ll have our final 45-minute 1-on-1  to solidify your ideal audience member and key messages one last time.

Throughout this engagement, you also receive:

Voxer access to me on Wednesdays and Fridays. Voxer is a voice and text app.

On Fridays I will check in with you to find out how the writing went for you.

Ask me questions on Wednesdays and Fridays if you are struggling with writer’s block, blank-page syndrome, feedback from your audience, or if you have any other questions.

  1. “MOMCAVE” writing time: 45 minutes uninterrupted writing time on the same day each week. We meet on zoom. No coaching here. Just writing! 🙂

  2. Up to 5 1-on-1 meetings with me. The 4 meetings described above plus 1 other meeting you can schedule at any time during the 14 weeks.

One round of edits on every piece of anchor content you write. Edits happen within Google docs. I provide line by line edits as well as an overall paragraph summary of my feedback.

→ My unique systems and processes for helping you articulate your key messages and ideal audience member.
